Because infant crying can be a trigger for child abuse, the PA Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics created a laminated card that lists tips to help calm a crying baby. Over 150,000 Crying Cards have been distributed to parents of newborns through hospitals, family and pediatric practices and organizations that work with high risk populations. Crying Cards are free of charge and come in packs of 100. Two documents on swaddling are also included with every mailing of crying cards.
